This is a very good original U. S. Model 1892 Krag rifle bayonet, manufactured at Springfield Armory and dated 1899, complete with its all steel scabbard fitted with an early swivel belt hanger. The 1899 date places the bayonet squarely within the period of the Philippine American War, when the Krag Jrgensen was the standard U. S. Army service rifle. The blade retains its bright finish character beneath an even gray
